August 7 - The 4th Annual Bash at the Lube! ~ Back to School Bash Car, Truck & Bike Show will be held on Saturday, August 7th, at the Quaker Steak & Lube, 12832 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA. Rain date is Sunday, August 8th. The event is free to the public, and is open to all makes, models, and years of vehicles. Registration is $10 for all vehicles. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., and awards presentation begins at 3:00 p.m. There will be “goody bags” and dash plaques for the first 50 registered participants, food, music, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle. Awards will be given the Top 50 vehicles…as well as Best in Show Car, Best in Show Truck, Best in Show Bike, Best Club Participation and two Manager’s Choice awards! Join us for an exciting day of cruising and testing your car on the drag strip! Meet in the Sears parking lot @ Greenbrier Mall, departing at 8:30 am for the cruise portion of the day. There will be a stop at the rest area on 17. The end destination will be Northeast Dragway (www.NorthEastDragway.net) in Hertford, NC. Where you will have between the hours of 10:00 am until 4:00 pm to test your street legal car on the track, enjoy good food and fellowship!
Rules:
It is not required that you cruise with the group to gain access to the track but we do ask that you be inside the gates no later than 10:00 am. Track access is open to street legal cars only! Do not tow/trailer a racecar with tags on it and claim it is 'street legal'! The track's ruling on the street legal issue is final. There is to be absolutely NO ALCOHOL permitted. driver/passenger. it doesn't matter! This is a family friendly event. Heads up, grudge matches are encouraged. presents Event Fees: Cruise is FREE, Fees at the track will be: $10.00 per person for track entrance and $10.00 per car track fee.

September 25 - Southeast Virginia Street Rod Association's 18th Annual Charity Picnic and Car Show. From 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. A Show and Shine in a relaxed atmosphere among the trees at The Lone Star Lodge on Pembroke Lane in Suffolk, VA. Open to all Street Rods, pre-72 Customs, Resto and Classics. Lunch served to all show participants and paid visitors. Dash Plaques, Door Prizes, and Children’s games. Proceeds from event, raffles, 50/50 and event T-shirt sales to benefit a local charity.
